Kedartal is beautiful glacial lake situated an altitude of 4700m. It is one of the highest shiva lake sureounded by Mt. Thaley sagar, Mt. Brighupant & Mt. Jogin. This lake is the source of Kedarganga , which in hindu mythology, considered to be Lord Shiva contribution to bhagirathi river. This trek offers the best view of snowcapped mountains, Mt. Thaley sagar, Kedartal Lake, Blue sheep (bharal) & snow leopard. This high altitude Shiva lake is the hidden gem in Uttarakhand. 

3. Gaumukh - Tapovan Trek 

Location :- Gangotri National Park, Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand

Satopanth consits of two words. Sato = Thruth, Panth = way. The satopanth lake trek is difficult. The trekker needs to be physically and mentally fit. This trek should be done under the guidance of trek guide or locals. One can ask for the permit from the forest department in Joshimath. This lake is somewhat triangular in shape.
