The landscape just after chirbasa looks like a barren land, you will see less of the vegetion along the trail. During the trek there is no dhaba though there are many sources of water . You must carry your own food and water bottles. The trail is similar to that of gangotri -chirbasa. This will take you around 3 hrs to reach bhojbasa. It has many staying facilities including GMVN, dhabas, camps etc. You can opt according to your budget. Bhojbasa is the main basecamp for both gaumukh and tapovan.

Bhojbasa :- bhojbasa is the main basecamp for both tapovan and gaumukh. Bhojbasa has no of stays including GMVN, huts, camps, ashrams. The prices also varies in each of these stays. If want better facilities you can opt for GMVN, but you need to book it first online before you start the trek. Then there are other options too. Now, the real adventure starts from bhojbasa to tapovan. The trail is challenging, Rocky and steep. Tapovan falls on the other side of the river Bhagirathi (Ganga). In order to get access to the other side of the river one has to pull the trollley & pass through, with the help of trolley. 1. Hello, my friend. I am Fred Neal from West Virginia, USA. When younger I guided on local trails, as a Boy Scout hiker. They ranged from 20 to 30 miles in length. We climbed through valleys, up ridges, and along hill tops. Some were very rugged, but nothing so challenging as appears in these pictures.

Thank you for sharing, and happy trekking!
