Though, Uttarkashi is very well known to tourist for its beautiful landscapes but the real beauty lies within the "beautiful but less known known places" in Uttarkashi.

1. Kyarkoti Lake Trek
This beautiful trek is a hidden gem in Uttarkashi (Uttarakhand). It is located at a distance of 14 km from the popular hill station "Harsil Valley". This beautiful trek offers the panoramic view of mesmerising bugyal (meadow). One can enjoy the beauty of this beautiful place in the months of May-August. The beautiful Kyarkoti is of great interest. Brahmakamal (state flower of Uttarakhand) is common here. This beautiful treks also offers the trail to Lamkhanga pass, which connects the Chitkul village of Himachal Pradesh with Harsil valley of Uttarakhand. One can trek to Chitkul through kyarkoti.

People often confuses with Brahmatal and Brahmital. Both are different treks. Brahmatal is in Chamoli district whereas Brahmital falls in Uttarkashi district. Brahmital is a beautiful high altitude glacial lake, and,is still unknown to tourists or adventure lovers. This lake is loacated at a distance of 14km from Purali village(Harsil valley) in Uttarkashi. This lake is a symbol of divinity. The residents of Purali village used to worship this lake. Brahmakamal (state flower of Uttarakhand) are in abundance. You can visit here in april-sept.This trek offers the beautiful view of Mt. Sudarshan, Chaturbhuj, Manda parvat and Gangorti peaks.
3. Jhinda Bugyal Trek
Jhinda bugyal is located at a distance of 5km from Dharali village in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. This beautiful trek takes one through beautiful Apple orchards, pine and deodar forest . This trek offers the beautiful view of Mt. Shrikanth, Mukhba Village, Dharali village and gangotri peaks. April - September is the best time to trek. This beautiful trek offers the opportunity of camping. This trek is perfect choice for beginners. This trek also offers the trail to Mt. Srikanth.
4. Awana Bugyal Trek
Awana bugyal is a beautiful meadow located at a distance of 12 km away from Jhala Village. This village falls in Uttarakshi district of Uttarakhand. The trek takes one through beautiful streams, rhododendron and deodar forest. This trek ranges from moderate to hard. April-May and August - September are the best for this trek. Awana bugyal lies at an altitude of 9,590 feet. Therfore it offers the scenic view of the valley.
5. Gidara Bugyal Trek
Gidara Bugyal is a perfect choice for trekkers and is located at a distance of 19 kms from Bhangeli village in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Bhangeli village serves as a basecamp for Gidara Bugyal. It lies an altitude of 13,900 feet. This Bugyal is large and wide as compared to famous Dayara Bugyal. This trek offers the beautiful view of Mt. Bandarpunch, Gangotri peaks I & II, Srikanth and DKD (Draupadi ka Danda). The best time to visit this place is in the months of Apr-Sept.

Mangwachu trek is located at a distance of 12 km from Mukhba Village. This trek is famous for it's unique vibrating lake. The trail takes one through beautiful deodar and pine forests. This trek offers an amazing view of the valley and glaciers. This place represents the divinity. Local residents of the village worship this place every year.
7. Raatah Trek
This trek is best for camping lovers. This trek lies at an altitude of 8900 feet. Cholmi village and harsil valley serves as a basecamp for this trek. It is only 4 km away from Harsil valley. This trek is good for beginners. This is one of the best- skii destination in Uttarkashi. This trek offers the 360° view of snowcapped mountains and the valley. 8. Sahastra Tal Trek
Sahastra Tal is lesser known high altitude lake trek in Uttarkashi. Bhelatipri & Silla village serves as base camps for this trek. This is long -48 km trek, lying an altitude of 15000 feet. This trek takes one through beautiful rhododendron, deodar, pine forest and meadows. There are multiple lakes in this area, which makes it a must visiting place. Kush kalyan and kyarki bugyal falls in the route of Sahastra Tal. You can visit this lake in may, June, August.
9. Kush Kalyan Bugyal Trek
Kush kalyan bugyal is a 18 km trek from Silla village. This trek offers the panoramic view of mountains and Meadows. Bhelatipri and silla village serves as a basecamp for this trek. Locals use this place for grazing their cattles. This bugyal sits an altitude of 10,500 feet. April, May, July, August are the best months to visit this place. This trek is good for anyone looking for peace and adventure. This bugyal is home to variety of flora and fauna.

Khedatal lake trek is a 11000 feet trek. Bukki village serves as a basecamp for this trek. This trek takes one through beautiful rhododendron forest. The lake is surrounded by deodar forest on all sides. This trek offers the beautiful view of Mt. JaonLee and Mt. DKD (Draupadi ka Danda). Khedatal is home to variety of flora and fauna. Some plants here, are aromatic in nature. Residents of the village worship this lake every year.
